EA background (Step 3 / 4)
March - April 2003: contacts and agreement with W3C/WAI
- W3C/WAI has been contacted by the
BrailleNet Association (France) and Bartimeus-Accessibility Foundation
(Netherlands),
- talks with W3C/WAI to get an agreement on the principles and objectives:
- W3C/WAI guidelines shall always be considered as a de facto
standard in the methods developed regarding Web Accessibility,
- W3C, including WAI, makes no exclusive delegation of certification
authority to any one organisation or group of organisations,
- W3C/WAI is the final authority on interpretation of the WAI
guidelines,
- All the European countries shall be represented in the project,
- Profit is not the scope of the project.
- W3C/WAI agrees to join,
- the name of the European Consortium is choosen: EuroAccessibility.
