Résumé
L'initiative BlindSurfer a été lancée
en 2000 pour promouvoir en Belgique l'accessibilité des sites Web; elle
est le fruit d'une idée d'un internaute aveugle, Mr Rudi Canters, malheureusement
décédé pendant ce mois, et de la
collaboration de deux importantes associations d'aide aux personnes handicapées
de la vue, Blindenzorg Licht
en Liefde et l'ONA. Environ 250 sites, principalement publics, ont été
évalués selon des critères basés sur les WCAG et une
bonne soixantaine de sites ont reçu le label BlindSurfer. L'action lancée
dans la partie flamande du pays s'étend aujoud'hui à la partie francophone
et aux sites bilingues

Abstract
The BlindSurfer initiative was started in 2000
in order to promote Web sites accessibility in Belgium. It is the result of an
idea proposed by a blind internaut, Mr Rudi Canters, unfortunately deceased during
this month, and of the cooperation of two important associations dedicated to
the support of visually impaired persons, namely Blindenzorg Licht en Liefde and
ONA. Around 250 sites, mainly from the public sector, have been screened according
to directives based on the WCAG and around sixty sites have been awarded the BlindSurfer
Label. The action started in the flemish part of the country and is now spreading
towards the french speaking part and to Bilingual sites.
